This amino acid app for biochemistry will help you to memorize the 20 most common amino acids, their structure, side chain class, 1 letter code and other properties. It is based on the reflective practice method of learning where reading (using flash cards) and recall (using quick quizzes) is combined. Your results are saved, plotted and analyzed so you can track your progress over time.

FEATURES:
1. Flash-card style reference section with: amino acid structure; side chain class; side chain polarity; side chain pka; 1 and 3 letter abbreviations; and essential, non-essential and semi-essential amino acids.
2. Amino acid name > side chain class quiz.
3. Chemical structure > side chain class quiz.
4. Chemical structure > amino acid name quiz.
5. 1 letter abbreviation > amino acid name quiz.
6. Choose quizzes with 15 or 30 questions, which after some practice can take 25 to 50 seconds. 
7. Your results for up to 42 x 8 quiz attempts are saved and can be retrieved at any time. Scores are plotted on line and bar graphs, together with time taken, if clues are used, time, date and daily: average; high; and low. Monitor your progress in memorizing amino acids over days, weeks or months.
8. Quiz randomness has been modified to maximize learning . For example, once you have correctly answered twice, it will no longer ask that question again in that quiz attempt.
9. Each quiz has clues if needed.
10. If the quiz answer is incorrect it pauses and gives feedback.
11. No need for an internet connection, practice offline.

As your accuracy and speed of recall improves, stronger amino acid memories are formed. Once you have achieved a high accuracy with fast recall, test yourself again after a few days, a week or a month to see if you have formed long-term memories.
